Good Gatherings Gift Boxes
Looking for more of an “off the shelf” gift for a friend, family member or colleague celebrating an important moment?
Good Gatherings gift boxes are a unique and special gift that are also easy on your wallet!
Each gift box contains a series of sealed envelopes that are opened according to easy-to-follow instructions written on the front of each envelope.
How It Works
The gift box experience begins with the honouree(s) exploring an inviting mix of occasion-specific activities on their own time, activities designed to engage them in an enjoyable, thoughtful reflection about their milestone moment.
The experience culminates with a small gathering of friends and family member who want to help celebrate the honouree(s)’ special moment. Guests will be guided through various activities that encourage meaningful conversations, the sharing of memories and stories, and will almost always include a heartfelt laugh or two! Suitable for even the most reluctant of participants!
Gift boxes are currently available for retirements, wedding anniversaries, 50th birthdays and 60th birthdays.

We’d been quietly celebrating a benchmark “50th Love Year” – 11 years as a committed couple, plus 39 years married. We wanted to culminate the year with family, yet wondered how to elevate a small dinner party into an evening of genuine joy, heart connection, and meaning.
Then came our wonderous Good Gatherings Anniversary gift packet from Laurel!
We had no idea what we were getting into! But the simple directions helped us interact easily with the questions and the process…together, individually. We were reminded to engage with the process in our own way, to embrace and enjoy the experience in ways that felt most meaningful and doable for us.
What was, at first, a wonderful walk down memory lane, soon became a deep and wide relationship review. An astonishing and deep witnessing of how we made it through 50 years in the best and worst of times. Stunning recognition! Beautiful!
This rich awareness carried into our family celebration dinner a few weeks later. Inside our last envelope, another surprising and delightfully flowing process! In a spirit of fun, family members facilitated our sharing of special stories. When the process shifted to a quiet tone, we were blessed with exquisite acknowledgments and heart-full wishes. Priceless intimacy. Altogether, a dream-come-true circle of celebration.
The Good Gatherings Anniversary process helped us harvest the gold of our 50 years together, while deepening our shared family experience and giving us a bridge for charting our future together with even more intention, more gratitude, more joy! Oceans of gratitude, Laurel!

Most gift boxes contain 4-5 envelopes, it just depends on the occasion.
Usually the first 3 or 4 envelopes are opened by the honouree(s), on their own time.
Time to complete varies per person, some like to take a few days and others prefer a much slower pace and enjoy the process over a few weeks or more.
Best to assume it will take longer and give the honouree(s) ample time (4-6 weeks is ideal) to complete!
The final envelope is opened at the gathering with friends and takes about an hour to complete.
-
Yes! Go the extra mile and do the process with them. Be there when they open each envelope and help them navigate their way through the various activities.
The time you spend with them will be an added gift – to them… and to you!
-
The gathering is often hosted by the gift giver but does not need to be. It can also be hosted by someone else of the honouree’s choosing!
-
Yes! Good Gatherings gift boxes pair perfectly with a celebratory meal.
First, ideally allow 4-6 weeks for the honouree(s) to complete the initial part of the gift box experience, on their own time. Then, at the dinner party, set aside about an hour for the self-guided gathering portion. It’s the perfect complement to your pre-meal happy hour.
-
Yes and no.
For the first part of the experience where the honouree reflects on their milestone moment on their own time – yes.
For the guided gathering portion – no, not really.
Gift box experiences are best suited to a small gathering of 10 guests or less. However, we would be delighted to help you customize your larger gathering to better suit the circumstances!
